Date night at Machete was an awesome experience…particularly since my husband and I tried a unique challenge called “Date Night Roulette”. We blindly chose this 1 restaurant out of 10 that we’ve never been to and then…trusted the waitress! 😳 Megan literally choose every dish we ate without any guidance from us! I was worried as Machete is tapas-style and I’m such a picky eater. Megan understood the assignment! She was so excited to play this game with us that she even brought us a complimentary glass of champagne! She surprised us with all of her favorite tapas!! She explained each dish to us as she brought each plate out and was very confident in her choices! Megan did her thang!!! I loved Every. Single. Dish!! We had polenta, sea bass, mushroom toast, sweet potato funnel cake, and baby back ribs!! Megan was so kind and made it a memorable date night! We will definitely be sure to come back! Machete in Greensboro is an absolute gem—easily one of the best restaurants in the city! From the moment you walk in, you know you’re in for something special. The food is not just good; it’s interesting, with flavors and textures that keep you guessing in the best way possible. And for the quality and portions? Shockingly well-priced!
My husband and I decided to check out Machete for our anniversary! We had such an awesome experience! We were seated quickly with our reservation. Our server, Cameron, was AWESOME! We had noted my alpha-gal allergy on the reservation and Cameron came prepared with a hand written list of mammal-free options from the menu! My allergy makes eating out a challenge and I’ve had other restaurants treat me like questions/accommodations were a burden, so the fact that she did that for me meant SO much! All of our food was delicious, but the duck wings were phenomenal! We will definitely be back!
Machete is one of my favorite restaurant experiences. The food and cocktails are always creative and delicious and the service is exceptional. The restaurant is located very close to where we used to live in Greensboro. If we still lived there, we would go frequently. We live in New York now and make a point to visit Machete every time we are in the area. I have been there for quiet romantic date nights with my husband as well as fun (louder) evenings with friends. No matter what, the vibe is always right. Seeing the food scene in Greensboro evolve has been great. Machete is really the gold standard!
We ate here the day before our sleep token show. Food was incredible and full of flavor. We got so many things off of the menu. The mocktails were delicious. Highly recommend. Yes, the portions were small but purposeful. I didn't mind that at all. The quality of the food was worth it. Service was great.
Incredible dining experience. The staff are wonderful, informative and friendly. The food is amazing--unusual combinations of flavors which are surprising but delightful and delicious. Makes you realize how important it is to slow down and pay attention to what you treat your mouth to.
Make reservations and go. Absolutely worth it. We ordered 3-4 small plates and everything was delicious. But the staff behind the bar deserve all the stars - service was exceptional and they went above and beyond to be kind as well as discrete when I had an emotional moment.
We came for a girls night, we had the beef tartare, garlic bread, sea bass, & flat iron steak and several different cocktails. All was great and service great as well.
The only thing I’m upset about is that I didn’t find Machete sooner! I’m already looking forward to going back and getting another plate full of that incredible crab fried rice.
This place truly understands that dining is not just about eating, but it’s absolutely an experience. They appreciate the nuance of even knowing to ask for sparkling or Stillwater and have an exciting menu. That is absolutely delicious. I wish this restaurant was closer so I could eat here more frequently. Great job; the service was amazing. Excellent.
